Found this over at Fatwallet:

Just got the email, the promo begins in a couple of days....must apply for Sony card (new customers only), purchase in the time frame listed, and with a purchase of $349 or more, you get a $200 credit back to the card in 45 days. So, 80GB PS3 for $399 - $200 = $199.

Here is a copy & paste from the email. I called and spoke with someone who said it was going to be a 3 day sale, but I only see 3-14-09 as the date, maybe someone can learn the specifics and post them.

' Offer expires 03/14/09. Must apply by 03/14/09. Acct must be open by 04/15/09. Qualifying Transaction must be made by 05/15/09 to receive $200 Statement Credit. When first single sales receipt purchase is made equal or greater than $349 within 45 days of Sony Card account open will automatically qualify customer for $200 Statement Credit. Statement Credit will be posted to their Sony Card Statement within 8-12 weeks from Qualifying Purchase (first purchase does not include balance transfer or balance transfer checks) account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Offer available to new Sony Card accounts only and only one $200 Statement Credit may be earned per Sony Card account. This promotional offer is available for new Sony Card account holders only; existing Sony Card account holders or accounts are not eligible.'

There is a catch to this. Keep in mind that there is a reason the credit appears 45 days later. That's because you will have already had to pay off the initial purchase or face interest charges.

And the credit is a credit to the card - so you will need to spend the money, its not as if you'll get a check for $200 back.

Just want to point that out for anyone that misses it.

I believe you get 12 months 0% interest with the offer as well. 0% fixed for the first 12 billing cycles following the purchase date (promotional period).
So pay the minimum until the $200 is removed from the balance, then pay it off prior to the 0% interest period.

It's a pretty good deal if you don't mind signing up for the card, but may not be for everyone. I'm just pointing out an opportunity for those interested.
