I have my Playstation 3 hooked up to my insignia 720p hd tv with an hdmi cable. The volume is extremely low and i cannot hear the movies very well. I don't think its my tv cuz the tv gets loud when i watch tv stations. Do i really need to buy different speakers to be able to hear dvds... HELP!

Hello!...:)

Welcome to the forum...

You should refer that question to the "BluRay Players" sub-forum (the one directly above this one), someone there can help, I'm sure.

Change the audio output over HDMI to PCM and downmix it to 2-channel output. What is likely happening is the center channel is being dropped by the TV and that is why it is so low.

Go into the PS3 audio setup menu and change the output to 2-channel downmix.
