I see there are a few posts about converting the Bell HD box to a PVR using an external hard drive. Is it possible to do the same with a Cogeco HD box (model DCT6200) as well? What would be required to do this?

Meld 02-26-2009, 07:52 AM After doing a brief search using Google it would appear that the DCT6200 can be connected to a PC via Firewire and that recordings may then be made on the PC. I did not read enough to find out about an "easy" PVR addition, like teh Bell 6131/6141 uses but this appears to be a way to record the HD. The only way to hook up the Cogeco HD model DCT6200 is by the "Firewire" 1394 cable and have some sort of recording software installed on a computer. So far it is only the Bell ExpressVu models that have the ability to record "directly" to an external hard drive. | |
