I want a 36" CRT that is capable of displaying 480p (if possible?)
Can someone tell me the model number of the best one out there? There are so many similar TV's out there I just have no clue what to look for. Wide screen models would be nice, but that is not required.
Also, if anyone can give me a legit site that may have the recommended tv for sale that would be very nice.

Not many options on the new side that I know of, however if you don't mind used Craigslist_dot_com is a good place to look.

I think there are many that would argue (especially over at Avsforum) that the Sony 36xs955 is the finest 36" CRT model made in the last few years.

Assuming the OP can find one, I'd tend to agree. It's an HDTV with a 4:3 superfine pitch 1080i HiSCan picture tube and a combined NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner. It's the only 4:3 TV that had the superfine pitch CRT. However, the XS955 series of CRT sets was discontinued in late 2005.
If the OP doesn't want an HDTV, the more recent Sony KDL36FS130 and KDL36FS170 were nice SDTVs with separate NTSC and ATSC tuners, but these were also discontinued about 2 years ago.

I have a TV from 2002, Sony KV-34XBR800 Widescreen HD ready TV. Is that an OK model?
