With simply hooking up an external hard drive [to the USB connection on the BEV 6141 receiver]:
that never turns itself off,
has an external power supply,
and is at least 50gb up to 750gb
you can turn it into a single tuner PVR.
Exactly the same as the 6131 for the use of an external Hard Drive.
Both models even use the same software.

I have a 6100 from a couple years ago will this work with that reciever also?
No, only the last 4 HD receivers from Bell allow for use of the External hard Drives.
They are;
6131
6141
9241
9242
The 9200 has it's USB port activated to allow the user to put upto 1 Gig of .jpgs onto the internal Drive to create a Slideshow.

A friend of mine has added the external hard drive to his Bell HD box and it works great as a PVR. Can I also add an external hard to my Cogeco DCT6200 HD box and turn it into a PVR?

If you are planning on turning your Bell Expressvu 6141 HD Receiver into a PVR, and asks if you want to enable the PVR features of the receiver.
