Trouble with RCA 27V514T Television

I have a friend who has this tv and there is NO sound and NO picture. The power button will blink 25 times and then stop. Could have one of the diodes gone bad? This tv is ONLY two years old!! Help!!

Time to call for service or replace the TV. I would choose the latter for various reasons including that RCA TV's are throw away TV's. If you do purchase a new one, choose Vizio if on a budget or another name brand like Sharp, Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, or Panasonic.

I am going to open it up and do a current test with a ohm meter. I know a bit about electronics. But, I told my friend the other day that this TV (RCA) are junk!! But I will mess with it!!

Obviously you should be careful, since there are all sorts of lethal voltages inside a CRT TV.

See if you can get the service manual. The power LED blinking 25 times is trying to tell you something that the manual might explain, plus the manual will give you schematics to work from.
