Star Choice needs more HD Channels

Anybody feel the same way? I'm not a hockey fan, so when SC announced we are getting so many more HD Hockey Channels, it was a let down for me.

Who needs fireplace or portrait channels in HD, when we need more channels with entertainment on them.

That's what I meant. I talked to them and they say not much plans for more HD channels any time soon. That portrait channel is a riot!!! A bunch of stills repeated day after day week after week. I hope they really don't go HD on the fireplace channel lol!

You are going to get more HD - after 4 Sportsnet and Golf HD channels are launched.

And after your 505/530s become obsolete for HD. Yes SC is upgrading (probably late 09 or early 2010) to DVB-S2 MPEG4 for HD.

The new models will be 605 HD receiver and 630 HDDVR.

This will allow them to put 8 HD channels/transponder as opposed to 3 as it is now with the 505/530

Do you think SC will charge us for the new HD receiver and if so how much do you think?
