Crap, looks like I'm out of luck for Dish TV
The only clear sightline is if they stick the dish directly in the middle of my front yard. Not gonna happen.
They even let me use their sighting tool. I agreed with them. They said that it is policy to have a second installer come out to evaluate other options, but I doubt that they could do any better.

was that for the eastern or the western arc?

They told me 167* (SE)
and about 45* up
Right in the canopy of a gigantic oak tree.
I was getting a 1000.4 I think they said. It was a big-ass thing!
I signed up for AT250 and Gold HD

You might want to check for western arc, about 215 sw depending on where you live. Not to mention, even thought the elevation is set for 46, the signal comes from the sky closer to 80 degrees.

Southwest is worse, but 80* would work.
Why did they say 46*, then?
Another option is on the peak of my roof, but they would need a bucket truck to get up there, about 40 feet up on a 12/12 pitch. The first installers couldn't even get up as high as the gutters. My 24 foot extension ladder just makes it high enough to reach into the gutters to clean them out.

No place in the US would the Sat be at 80 deg, the dish is pointed 22 deg below the sat.

46 plus 22 is 68 degrees. I ballparked it, as I didn't know for sure. Good luck Doctor

46 is 46 not 46+22. The angles on the dish are the real angle to the satellite and already have the 22 degree offset included.

Guys walk on 12/12 roofs all day long so you don't need a bucket truck.
Is your roof a hip or do you have a gable end? If it is a gable end have them install it there to avoid holes in the roof.

I don't know, 12/12 is a 45 degree angle, not very easy footing.

I know I sure as hell wouldn't walk on a 12/12 roof. Your TV isn't worth my life.
