It's more like Cablevision, the owner of Voom wanted triple the amount to keep it. Dish said no. And so, Voom is no more. They cut off their nose to spite their face and it bit them in the ass.

If it was a goal then that's what goals are for. I would rather see a goal of 150 than a goal of 80 then see them pat themselves on the back and give us no more. They did give us 1080P PPV.

You can record but, once you start watching the movie you have a limited amount of hours to watch. After the time period (48 hours I think but am not sure) the movie will self destruct (erase) from your hard drive.

If you have a Hauppauge HD PVR (component) or BlackMagic Design Intensity card (HDMI) you may be able to send it to your PC HDD. 1080p is HDMI only, I believe.

Dish Fairies come into your home each night and fill you HD with lots of goodies for your eyes. Then when your ready to watch one the thousands of hours of VOD they have placed on your HD, it magically appears on your screen.

Just move to Direct Tv and you wont have to worry about it

How about we all stick to the original thread, there are plenty of VOD threads out there to get your questions answered.

VOD movies are downloaded to the HDD of your receiver overnight when the receiver is in standby mode and when you play it you are playing the recording off the internal HDD.

There is no other way for a satellite provider to be able to provide you with content that you can play at any time. Cable companies can send you a stream when your receiver asks for it, but satellite does not have the luxury of unlimited bandwidth or even spare bandwidth to send you personally a program when you ask for it.
