May be getting Dish...

I just got off the phone with my Embarq rep about switching to Dish. I currently have HD cable and DVR and my bill just went to $84. I wouldn't care about the price, but the cable company just took VersusHD, TNTHD and UniversalHD away and said that they will replace them with a new VersusHD, GolfHD and OutdoorHD. Not what I wanted to hear. Outdoor is a waste of time, I have the SD version and rarely watch it. Golf in HD is amazing, for 5 minutes. Versus has hockey and we've been without it for a month.

Anyhow, I may switch. It all depends on how and where they are going to put the ugly-ass dish.

I will get the top 250 with the gold HD. One HDTV in the living room, one in the bedroom (but the wife doesn't care if it is HD or SD) and 2 rarely used SD in a guest room and bonus room.

What should I be on the lookout for when they call back tomorrow at 4:00?

Any "Tips or Tricks" I should know about? Embarq will bundle the service with my DSL and home phone, so I already get a discount. CS told me it was $5.50/month.

Thanks.

As far as VersusHD is concerned they had NO choice as Versus split the VersusHD and GolfHD channels so they had to split them.
