I've had this tv for a few years and have had no problems with it. however yesterday it was flickering like there was some sort of interference so i shut it down i was playing xbox 360 at the time. so i shut it off and waited a few hours then turned it back on to watch tv and then it did the same thing but this time the picture completely went out. i have not been on it at all today until a few minutes ago and it started to flicker again. has anyone had this problem. i was trying to get an estimate to repair the problem. There is also a burning smell coming from the tv after it started flickering only when its on.

Sounds like a high voltage issue. The cost of repair may be more that the TV is worth. You might consider replacing it with a new set if it isn't under warranty.

Hard to tell not knowing the part cost. Maybe $150 to $300.
