Dish VIP 622 DVR No Signal

I have a Dish VIP 622 DVR for 6 days. I never powered it down. It is sitting on the top TV stand. It is connected to a Belkin high end battery back-up unit and that to a wall surge protector.

What is happening is that the "green" power light for TV1 comes on intermittently and the fan runs continuously but there is no signal to the TV. I tried all of the reset steps. Also tried plugging it directly into the wall but the behaviour is the same.

Anyone have any idea about possible root cause?

After much complaining, etc. DISH has agreed to send a technician with a new unit tomorrow but based on what I am reading the 622 seems to be problem prone.

Note, I don't have a telephone line into the device and so does that mean that Dish can not down load ROM patches to the unit?

Take all that superfluous junk out of the system.
Plug TV and 622 into WALL.
Do a check switch, let it progress, dl guide. Then watch TV.

If that doesn't work, then you may have a suspect 622.

Thanks! Did the wall outlet direct connect but same experience. Guess I need a new receiver.

Not sure what "check switch" means but wall connection didn't solve the intermittent on/off light without signal experience.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated.

Running a Check switch test (MENU 6, 1, 1) from your remote allows the receiver to discover what type of DISH hardware it is connected to.

However, and more to the point, a receiver that usually is "POWER CYCLING" by itself just needs to be replaced.
