Dish says more HD are coming in Feb 2009, I am pissed

I am really pissed that when Dish has a dispute with any content provider (I do not include recent dispute with network affiliate, as the affiliate seem to deserve blame for their greed), they penalize customers by not including provider's channels, such as the removal of VoomHD, FoxbusinessHD, FNCHD, FXHD. I am pissed.
They want to raise fees on Feb, 1st, only vaguely announced that they may add more HDs in Feb or March when their new CIEL II satellite is working. Not sure if Fox Business HD among them.

Folks, we need to give Dish and the crooked Charles Ergen pressure by telling them we are switching. In my case, U-Verse is around the corner and very competitive. Though Dish is the only company to provide HD only package (definitely a plus), but their hooligan attitude alienates millions of people, as far as I know, I am the only one with Dish while 40 others in my community has Direct.

I don't know of your issue with DISH, but I ALSO have been asking them for the FOX Business Channel for several weeks. I sure hope it will be coming on Feb 1.

Also, I just upgraded to HD, and am disappointed that FOX News Channel is not in HD, but CNN is.

Don't forget how they took the NFL Network away from the AT 100 subscribers because NFLN showed the Patriots and Giants game on national TV last year. And then had the nerve to say it was a trial offer.

It is definitely NOT on Feb 1st, but that is the date when they hike the price. :-( They will test the new satellite in Jan and Feb, and maybe they can add more HDs around Feb 15th is everything goes smoothly and there is not guarantee that FNCHD, FoxBusiHD will be added.

i've got pretty much the exactly what i want in the absoluteHD package and at a price that smokes directv.

it'd be nice to have more channels, but if you didn't visit sites like this and get more information about future channel adds, would you be so pissed?

i too would like more channels, but i'm getting what i signed up for without any problems, so i guess that makes me completely satisfied.

I'm not sure what to expect on Feb 1st. I'd be very happy with 10 'proper' channels. PPV/premiums don't really interest me but they do pad the numbers.
I don't care about Speed either.
Comedy Central would be nice, as would FSC and a few other light entertainment channels.

Personally I'm glad that Dish doesn't cave in. When TBS went HD and had the MLB play offs and they thought they could ask for and get the world DIsh pushed back. Giving in means that we would have to pay more. When the NFL network wouldn't give Dish a chance to have NFL pass like DTV they decided to punish NFL by moving it to an upper package only.

My only grumble is that 5 isn't very many. There's plenty of time to add a few more hopefully. Of course if they're going to have the same amount of HD content as WFN HD then they may as well not bother.

What is BTN? If it's Big Ten Network, my area(Big 10 states) has had it in HD since it's launch in Sept '07. I enjoy seeing Michigan getting thrashed in HD while it lasts, Rich Rod sucks!!!:lol:

AMC will just be blown up fake HD. NICK, yeah whoopee, I doubt kids(mine included) could care less if it's HD but I guess the pedophiles out there would dig the non-cartoon shows in HD. CMT, eh:what:. As far as Fox or CNN in HD, rarely necessary. Speed in HD, oh yeah. I could take or leave my locals in HD at this point because I put up an antenna but if my prices don't go up specifically for HD locals, I'm for it.

Why should we be patient? DN said there would be all those fancy HD channels by year's end when they turbo charged us, so what happened to that?

There are channels that really need to be HD, like: Military, speed, spike, outdoor, just to name a few and when is DN going to provide HD locals on the west coast?

I just switched to Turbo HD bronze, I hope they add more channels to that package soon.
