we have a 52" 8 series samsung, code number LN52A850. we had dish, and just upgraded to dish hd. now the dish remote wont work with the dish box. we hooked up box to another tv, and it worked. plug it back into our new samsung and it wont work.
we have 2 tvs operating on this box. tv 2 is working and is off of a uhf frequency. tv 1, the samsung is an IR frequency.
what can we do?

The Samsung TV is sending out signal that is interfering with the remote. You can try putting a piece of electrical tape over the sensor on the TV and see if that works. You can also try calling Dish Network technical support and see if they have a workaround that might help.

the dish guys were out here, and when we covered up the sensor, it would work every one out of fifty times you pressed a button. they called the techs and couldnt solve it. for they left it and will need to come back out tomorrow. they couldnt figure out how to change the remote 1 frequency from IR to UHF. we figure that would work. and then keep tv2 on UHF as well, but a different frequency. that should solve the problem, but we cant figure out how to change the remote.

That's why I suggested calling technical support.

I hear that this works. For more detail check the reviews on amazon for the ln52a850 set.

You have to have the right tab at the bottom of the remote. Assuming you have a UHF pro remote, you need the green UHF pro tab or maybe the Black one. With the correct tab, the rmote will send the signal in UHF to tv1.

I have a 622DVR, single mode, with a 6.3 IR/UHF remote operating a 56" Samsung on the first floor. I also have a 6.3 UHF remote on the first floor operating a old JVC analog and another 6.3 UHF remote on the first floor on the same 622 DVR on the TV2 output in 2 other rooms.
I have a 722DVR, single mode, with a 5.3 IR remote and a 6.3 IR/VHF remote on the second floor operating a 40" Samsung from adjacent rooms. I also have a 6.3 UHF remote on the first floor operating a Magnavox analog on the same 722 DVR on the TV2 output.
The receiver addresses are different on the 622 and 722. Maybe you need to check to be sure your remotes are set to the correct receiver address.
I have yet to have a conflict where one of the 6 remotes interferes with another.

It is not the posters remotes that are interfering with each other, it is the TV when on that is creating the interference. This also happens with some cable boxes. Go figure...

Hi Fellas.
Samsung has addressed the issue with the IR interference issue. If you are experiencing this specific issue, call 800-SAMSUNG and schedule a service for a new internal board that will eliminate the interference. I wanted to reach out to some of the other forums and people who may be experiencing these issues and let you know.
I hope that helps.

Also make sure 'Anynet+' is disabled in the display's user's menu. It is a system to link Samsung components, but can cause problems. Side issue, but worth a quick look.
