I would like to upgrade/modify the antenna system that is located on the roof of my RV. I am not interested in "in-motion TV". My goal would be to be able to receive "Dish HD" programing while in a fixed location. The location would be different at different times of the year. I will be able to have a clear view of the south-west sky at all locations, ( Southwest FL - Central AZ - Northeast OH) Ohio would be the most difficult site however there are no trees or high objects to block the view. I have an existing Satellite TV dish and rotator that could be modified I think??? Could someone give me advise as to which "Dish" system & satellite I should aim for? I'm thinking antenna = 1000.2 with Vip 211 receiver. Satellite 110, 119, 129?? I'm strictly looking for HDTV anything else I get is a bonus. Also if anyone knows a good tech that would work with me on this system in S.W. FL, 33980 , I would appreciate that info. THANKS! Gerry

get a tripod and a 1000.2 dish and set it up every time. Make sure to get the instuction manual because it has the settings for the dish by zip code.

Check out the MotoSat line of products. They are well built, and I have often thought of installing one. I hear Winegard is doing something similar.
We still use a tripod and a 1000.2 dish for our service, with up to a 50' length of RG6. Have been able to park with trees in the way of the MH, and move the dish to clear spot.

My suggestion is going with a 1000.2 and a tripod. I don't need HD while traveling so I use an old 500 dish and dishpro+ LNB.
I bought a King Dome dual LNB unit for my motorhome 2 years ago, lots of money wasted. After 2 years of aggravation they finally told me they don't recommend using King Domes for dual input receivers. I called them prior to buying the unit that I had the 622 and they confirmed that it was compatible, now when I complain about having difficulty getting locked on to 119 they say it is compatible but very difficult to set up! Where I come from that is considered lying!
