Actually prices are going to be raising very soon. Sony just announced price hikes as much as 30% in the first quarter of 2009.
Here's a thought- Raising prices 30% in the first quarter is a sure way to sink your business.
Who the hell is going to pay that in this economy?

Have you considered supply and demand? Super Bowl HD TV demand in January will probably increase prices. The Panasonic I purchased on 12/21/2008 from Vann's online is now $150.00 more. Maybe late March,2009 would be best tome if you can wait.
There are always huge TV sales prior to the Super bowl. Always.
