I have tryed going through customer service to no good--i need you guys to send me a smart card for the two recievers at my home to update for hd. I didn't recieve the card or cards in my last bill so please send this to me asap thanks jeff campbell

That would not work. Cards are linked to the receiver they're used with via the smart card number.

Anyway, according to the rep Iw as talking to last night, smart cards apparently aren't needed. She had me activate my new receiver without the smartcard and told me not to reinsert it. I get all my HD channels and other programming without a problem.

I think you need to return to customer service and verify what packages you have.

Yeap. That or a pirate..:rolleyes: I still havenot received my cards either, and perhaps never will.


If you are not a pirate or a troll. Or the dredded Pirate troll, contact customer service again and they will send them out to you. Just give them your now public account #..;)

Jeff, if you are a current dish sub, Dish will send you a smart card when they get around to you.

It is not mandatory that you have the card until they have already sent you the card.

The newest receivers (less than about 6 months old) have the new cards built right into them. No card is needed.

Also, the cards will never come with your bill. They are always shipped separately.

If you think you will need new cards after seeing this post and still have not gotten them yet, don't worry. It seems the rollout of the new cards are only about 75% complete at this time.
