Ran across this tidbit:
CBC uses the full ATSC bandwidth per service, ie no multicasting. It works out to to approx. 19.3 Mbit per sec. Which explains why local OTA reception is so nice and some stations have Dolby 5.1 surround sound in the broadcast.
