 What's the BEST CRT HDTV out there that has a short back to it?
I'm looking for a 30 inch widescreen HDTV with the sharpest picture.

That question is laced with contradictions. :)

The CRT HDTV'S Coming out have a shorter back to them..they almost look like LCD TV'S..but aren't.
The CES Electronic's Convention back in January 2005 introduced those upcoming tv sets. Samsung and LG have their shorter back CRT HDTV'S out now. Don't you read the news? :yippee:

He's implying that short back TVs aren't the best, because they aren't sharp...

Just hang in there until SED's are mainstream, somewhere around late 2006 maybe. Image quality of a CRT with the form factor of a plasma.

Canon claims they will be churning out 15,000 50-inch SED displays a month by the end of 06'. I think this is the technology I have been waiting for. It will be interesting to see what features will be incorporated into this technology... 1080p maybe???

Samsung is the only manufacturer who currently has a new HD-CRT in the stores that is "less deep" than conventional direct view CRTs.....it's "only" 14" deep. You said that these new shorter CRTs are close to the thickness of an LCD....well try hanging a 14" deep TV on the wall.....what nonsense. There is no such direct-view CRT currently offered or in the future that will be the thickness of an LCD. I saw that 2005 CES show, and yes the buzz was all about the new "shorter" Samsung direct-view HD-CRTs.....but the thickness of an LCD....that's totally not true and it's best that this kind of claim be killed right here, right now before everybody starts looking for something that will never exist.
