Loss of Local WRIC in Richmond VAHoward Stern 12-14-2008, 02:41 PM Another local decided not to pay dish anymore, our loss I guess. ssidave 12-14-2008, 02:45 PM They did that in Louisiana about a year ago without telling any of the customers. Techs in our company get penalized if a customer calls in with trouble 2 weeks or less after the tech has been out. Dish penalized our company and all the techs because the locals got cancelled out of the blue. NewtoHD2 12-16-2008, 08:08 AM I'm in the Richmond area and noticed that over the weekend. I tried calling the number but either no-one answers or you get someone you can't understand. Any ideas when this will be resolved or is ABC gone for good? Is it time to switch to Verizon. jim5506 12-16-2008, 01:11 PM Local stations do not pay Dish for carriage. If they opt for must carry, Dish carries the station without monetary exchange in either direction. But if the station opts for compensation for Dish carrying their signal, then they (the station) must negotiate with Dish for the amount DISH PAYS THEM. In that case if Dish and the station do not come to an agreement, then the station usually denies Dish the right to carry their signal. Dish does not drop them, they deny Dish their signal. | |
