Has anyone had to replace a remote control? Since I do not own the sat. equipment can I have this replaced for free or do I need to purchase? The remote has not been broken, just some buttons sticking, etc.

Just give Dish customer service a call and they will replace that sticking remote for you.

Your provider is responsible they will replace it.

Yes it's an even exchange so they can keep inventory control because if you wish a second remote they charge you for it.

I have received 4 replacement remotes in the past 3 years, never paid for one or paid shipping nor did I have to send in the defective ones.

Depends on the CSR. Shouldn't be a problem to get a new one sent out.

Now that you mention it, a couple of my buttons are sticking.
