Voom Question

I hate to beat an old horse but was wondering if anyone out there could point me in the direction I need. I have (2) of the old Voom STB's Motorola DSR 550's and I'am trying to find owner manuals for them or information on how to program the remote and scan for OTA channels. They both still work and would make great HD tuners for older tv's. I couldn't figure out what forum to post this in so don't beat me up to bad lol. Thanks for any help in advance.

First for the TV: TV must be on
1. Press the TV and OK buttons simultaneously, then release. The Voom butoon will light and stay on.
2. Press and hold down the CH+ button until the tv turns off.
3.Press CH- five times. If tv does not turn on, turn it on manually.
4. Press CH+ one at a time until tv turns off.
5. Press the tv button to save the code.

Scanning for channels:
1. Press Voom button
2. Press Green button for Options and Settings
3. Press Green button for System Settings
4. Select Installer Menu
5. Select Installation Wizard
6. Select Scan Local Channels

This this is correct.

Note: My local CBS station here in Atlanta started transmitting a guide with their signal which makes the receiver go into reset mode.
I have had to set the receiver to not display that channel. As a result I purchased a Samsung receiver to replace the Voom receiver.

Thanks John C22822, great info, just what I was looking for. So far my locals are not sending guide info over the air, good and bad news, good for me and this set up lol. Thanks again.

My PBS station just started transmitting something that is causing my VOOM receiver to reset all the time. The guide transmission might be the problem. There is another thread started on this site for VOOM reset problems with PBS.
