Please forgive me if this seems like a stupid question. I have a Sony WEGA TV built in 2001 model is KV-36XBR400. When I bought it they said I would need a "special box" to make it HD - this was 5 years ago. I am planning on changing my Directtv to HD service and I am completely ignorant of what I need. I could use some advice about a new receiver. I would also like to have a Tivo system. I have had a Sony SAT60 receiver with Tivo that I can move to my motorhome - any way to use both on the same account? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sony KV-36XBR400 appears to have 2 component inputs (1080i/480p/480i) so I would assume your major concern would be to make sure the tuner has component (YPbPr) outputs. (Usung the Dish DVR921 myself, so I am not familiar with what DirectTV/TIVO hardware might suit your needs.)

SNOWWING, I have the smaller brother, the 32" KV32XBR400. Excellent set if I do say so myself.
It is officailly a HD "Ready" TV, needing an external tuner to do the trick. The HD Receivers from DirecTV or DishNet are all you need. You will use on of the component connections on the back of the TV (the ones with 5 hookups).
And yes, you should be able to have both on the same account. I have DishNet, where they charge an additional $5 to have an extra receiver. I believe DirecTV works much the same way.

Thank You so much for the information. This is going to be easier than I thought (but isn't it always)? Hey, who changed my signature?!!
