I am living in the NW Suburbs of IL...streamwood. I am scheduled for install in november. A neighbor that works at ATT said that I can request they use all CAT5 to the house and throughout. DO NOT use any existing COAX. HE says that will eliminate any HD Quality issues. THe set up is 1 HDTV and three SD TV's. IS there any truth to his statement.

I currently have DTV and the HD Signal is EXCELLENT (most nights).

Honeslty WHAT am I gainign besides a LOWER bill that is anything better than what I have now...???

HELP!!

Welcome to HDF!

It is possible that cat5 is better. I have some hooked up with cat5 and some hooked up with coax and they both work. cat5 seems to be more fool proof though, so I'd say he was correct.

As far as what you would get other than a lower bill, probably nothing other than the whole house DVR abilities, flickr photos on your HDTV and the ability to program and manage your DVR from any online computer.
