Thinking of switching to Cox from Directv. Directv has great selection of HD channels, but seems to have lots of equipment glitches. Can anyone tell me what their experience is like w/ Cox in the Tulsa area or OKC area? Can Cox's HD-DVR record two diff programs at the same time? Can you fast forward thru commercials? Which model of HD-DVR do they use in Tulsa area? Any help greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the double post!

Anybody?
The "What is HD?" caption that the forum added to my name because I have no posts fooled me into thinking I had posted my question in the wrong forum, thus the double post.
Anyway, I am really wanting to go ahead w/ Cox but just wanted to try and get a feel for their HD service before I commit. Thanks!

What equipment glitches are you having with DIRECTV HD ?
I've had the DIRECTV HD DVR for about 2 years now and zero equipment glitches.

We have the Cox HD service in the OKC market and like it very much. With a Cox supplied SA 8300HD STB you can record two shows at a time, or view one show and record one show or watch two shows using Picture-in-Picture. That STB has an internal 160 Meg Byte hard drive. You can fast forward/fast reverse through any show you record, pause live TV, fast reverse live TV, etc. I am not sure what STB Cox supplies in Tulsa although this page, from Cox, implies Motorola products...

In the OKC market we also have OnDemand [both SD and HD] and iTV [Interactive TV] where we can view emails from our Cox email account, get news and weather, etc. We also have onscreen Caller-ID that is also setup via iTV.
Here is the current channel lineup for HDTV...

In our experience the Cox HDTV service, HSI service and digital telephone service are very stable and good. I can count on one hand the number of short duration outages we have had of either HSI or TV. We did have one long outage, however, but Cox was very responsive in getting that fixed. See my comments about that here.

I dropped DirecTV SD and went with Cox HD. All is working very well. I do miss my TiVo however.
