Lost Signal on 1 receiver but not the other

I have a 722 and a 222 receiver. The 222 receiver has lots of problems losing signal on the 129 satellite and I end up having to watch the SD version of some channels. I never have issues with my 722 though and they are fed from the same dish. The 222 is actually closer to my dish than the 722 so I didn't think it would be signal loss over the coax but maybe through the splitter? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Technically you cannot use a splitter, but must use a switch to distribute signal to multiple receivers.

Your system should be set up with probably a Dish 1000.2 and a single cable from the dish to each of your two receivers or possibly a Dish500 and a Dish 300 or 500 for 129 going to a switch, any other setup would be suspicious.

Jim, Dish has a software problem with the 222 receiver which they are very reluctant to admit. That problem will manafest itself as either 'lost signal' or a dropout of audio on some channels when your audio is being delivered to your TV/System via an HDMI cable.

After they (Dish) sent me three 222 receivers, I got them to admit that the problem was with the software in ALL of their HD receivers.

They advertise "Turbo HD", but believe me, they aren't delivering it.

Yep. If it's only 1 receiver having a problem it has to be that particular receiver. Have you tried updating the software?

I have heard anecdotally that the 222 is not on par with the other ViP series of receivers.

My 622 and 211 are very reliable.
