hello, Im a collage student so money, matters at moment. I have a samsung 42 in. tv, not sure what model. hi-def 1080p thats all i know, I have a sony 5 disc, changer dvd player, a ps3 and a wii. what is a good tuner with surround sound that i could hook up all of my systems and they all get surround, also another question Im using the standerd red-white-yellow av cable for systems, is it worh me going out to by the HDMI for them all. Will there be a big noticeble differance, sorry if this is hard to understand,new to all this.

1st off, I would definately get a HDMI cable for your PS3 if you don't already. That will allow for 1080p HD for games and Blue Ray movies. A HUGE difference vs SD 480i, HUGE..You can also use your PS3 as a good upconversion SD DVD player and forget about the Sony DVD player if you want. I would also get the component video cable for the Wii (around $18). This will allow for 480p and a bit better PQ you will get vs the composite/S-video cable. Don't pay BIG $$$ for HDMI or component cables from brands like Monster. You can get em here and many other places for as little as $10 a pop.

For what you need/can afford in a 5.1 SS system Onkyo and Yamaha make a few that will be rite up your alley. You didn't give your price limit, but this Onkyo 4100 system can be had at CC for around $350 onsale.. Even cheaper on the web.. The 3100 can be had for around $269.
