We are going to win some, and loose some just like any other team in the NFL. I hope Rodney is not out for the season. I love me some Rodney! Rodney is done for the season for sure. after the play Bruschi went up to harrison and looked like he said a prayer, both are very religious people, and after the play Bruschi walked up to Bill and said something to the effect of it's bad. Bill's expression changed quickly because it was obviously bad news. that whole moment pretty much told me Harrison is in bad shape. i just hope he isn't hurt so bad that he decides to not come back. Harrison was a much better player then most people give him credit for. it's no coincidence that the Pats were great at stopping opposing tight ends and Harrison's job was to stick those tight ends. he pretty much shut down Tony G. who is maybe a top 2 tight end ever. i'm not saying he's a great coverage guy but he is a whole lot better then most will give him credit as being. i'm surprised by this games final score. i'm not surprised at how Bill played so aggressive. him and Shannahan are both considered the top 2 coaches in the league and when they play both coach to destroy the opposing team. i watched Denver kills us in Denver and Mike never took his foot off the gas. Bill seemed to take acception to this multiple times. I don't see this becoming a trend with Cassell. he pats the ball right before he throws and once defenses catch on with that they will start jumping routes. Bledsoe did this and got away with it for many years because his arm streangth was so dam good. we might see some improvment in his confidence but he is still is stick and throw QB. he doesn't see his second options often enough and doesn't read the defense as quickly as he needs to. look how many times we have seen him stare down Moss and that ends up costing them a sack but somebody, mostly Watson, is sitting wide open with nobody around him. it's happened a bunch of times every game so far. I remember the last time Rodney got hurt, I forget the team they were playing. Rodney was hit flipped up in the air, and came down on his knee/leg. I knew it was really bad. He was out for the season, and I was depressed. You're right, I think he is underated around the league, but not in NE. He had a bad rep before coming here, just like Moss did. They said he was going to retire this year, but wanted to come back, and play again. I hope your wrong about being out for the season, but if he is at least you prepared me. About Cassel, well the game did give him confidence. I bet Bill will have him watching all his mistakes in the screening room Mon morning. For someone who has no real time experience I think he did a really good job tonight, despite all those dam sacks, lol. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm49/LIovemykittez/8035883e.jpg Wareagle34 10-21-2008, 12:21 AM It was a good win for them and a good confidence booster for Cassell, but I am still skeptical. Denver does have the worst defense in the NFL and New England didn't start taking advantage of the secondary until Champ Bailey went out. But Denver does have a good offense and NE did a good job of shutting it down. I think there still good enough to make the playoffs, especially with San Diego and Indy struggling. F91 10-21-2008, 12:34 AM Whoa!!!! You really got me there, you little turd burglar!!! What's next, the Sox didn't lose? The Patriots Don't Suck! Pats 41 Denver 7 BOO-YAH! Liquidx 10-21-2008, 01:56 AM This guy is funny... I'd probably block him if he wasn't so entertaining. Whatever, not even Marino could get Flipper a ring... ...Pennington? ROFL WAFFLE. mshulman 10-21-2008, 08:38 AM I'm feelin ya Matt. What peeps don't realize is that Tom Brady has had 110 starts, Matt has 6. Not to mention prior to these 6 starts, his last start was in high school. How did Brett Farve look his first couple of games? It takes time for a team to get going with a new QB - longer if that QB doesn't have a lot of game time. tcarcio 10-21-2008, 09:04 AM Great game for the Pats. I hate to see Rodney hurt but I think if it is that serious he will retire.:( Oh ya, Dolphins suck Balls. MattRCT 10-21-2008, 11:08 AM Whoa!!!! You really got me there, you little turd burglar!!! What's next, the Sox didn't lose? Oh yeah and Pennington has 3 INTs to Farve's 8 INTs on the season. With a much better passer rating too. Who was going to have more turnovers this year again?? DoctorCAD 10-21-2008, 11:11 AM They won, but still suck. mshulman 10-21-2008, 04:03 PM They won, but still suck. You and F91 hating them is different from them sucking. Its too early to say anyway - We'll know after a few more games. GymBrat98 10-21-2008, 09:35 PM Whoa!!!! F91 11-16-2008, 04:47 PM Brat- My problem with True Blood is that I don't think that Anna Paquin will show me what I want to see. Nice screen grab from Family Guy. Rich Guy is probably getting all nervous ..... My favorite episode is when Peter buys a case of Syrup of Ipecac..... BTW- Cassell did look pretty good at the end. MattRCT 11-16-2008, 06:09 PM It must have sucked to have the old timer light your D up, right Matt? Pats lost the game, Jets didn't win it thats for sure. Farve is still garbage at this point in his career. What do ya know, Farve has thrown for the most INTs so far this season. Before the season started I said Pennington would have less turnovers then Farve. You thought otherwise. Weird how that works huh. F91 11-19-2008, 08:35 AM You know what is really bad news for F91? The Phins have been playing like crap. There is no way they beat NE this week unless they pull their heads out. raiderfan 11-19-2008, 10:27 AM yeah, there is a lot going against them for this matchup... They have been playing like crap (as you just mentioned), they already beat NE earlier (tough to sweep the season series), and NE had extra time to prepare for this "revenge" game, as they haven't played since their Thurs night match against the Jets. F91 11-19-2008, 10:25 PM Porter has had a lull lately in what has been an All-Pro season. The offense has been inconsistent but the Defense has been pretty good. I really look forward to the opportunity to beat down the pats, but I'm not so excited about this one. Heck, they've overachieved so far and I'll take it.....but beating the pats twice? That would be special to me.:angel GymBrat98 11-21-2008, 12:07 AM Brat- My problem with True Blood is that I don't think that Anna Paquin will show me what I want to see. LOL, well her brother keeps me very interested! Thanks , I love Family Guy. I think one of my favorite epis is when Chris had the zit that talked. It said, "git me some bacon grease, and slather me up some homies". LMFAO I just saw the syrup one the other night, lol. Yes, Cassel did look good, and thank you for saying that. Hey did you vote on Amazon yet for a PS3 for 199.00, if I get it I will get COD World At War, that chit seems tight, yes? F91 11-21-2008, 12:17 AM Brat- CoD 5 is great- you'll have to add the group here as friends. The HDF clan has been known to kick some ass. Good Luck to who ever wins this Sunday. I'll be watching. He's never given a chance to get in any kind of groove. F91 11-24-2008, 08:49 AM I would agree, except that Long is now hurt and they had a tough time running with him in the locker room. Williams has been very good too, but neither can get a rhythm. Portis is just a plain stud, period. Watched him tear up the Seahawks yesterday and he did it at about 80%. Tough, tough runner. "These 2 teams DO NOT want to meet each other in the playoffs, they beat the living crap out of each other and the pats play Pittsburgh next. Ouch!" The phins and pats beat the living crap out of each other, The Pats weren't going to beat any top tier team after that. The Phins got a break and played a horrible Rams team, and yet they still struggled a bit. I ain't gonna step to you, we're cool. You know what I forgot to ask you F91? The hit Welker took, and he was out for the rest of the game. IMO, it was excessive to say the least! What are your thoughts about it? F91 12-05-2008, 08:30 AM Welker got absolutely blasted in the Dolphins game. A small body like that cannot take the abuse. I guess if he wasn't taken out of the Pittsburgh game, the hit in that game probably wouldn't seem as excessive. Point is, games like the one the Pats-Phins had take a toll. Those guys hate each other and they took it out on the field. We'll have to see who recovers first. GymBrat98 12-05-2008, 11:47 PM Welker got absolutely blasted in the Dolphins game. This team is still leagues ahead of anyone in the division... they lost pretty much all key players... yes, all their key players throughout the season and still came out with a more than respectable record. Dolphins and Jets fans have ZERO bragging rights this year. drbrosco 12-28-2008, 11:47 PM Dolphins and Jets fans have ZERO bragging rights this year. I am not a fan of any of these teams but I don't understand why you would make that comment unless your just mad cause Miami won the tiebreaker & the Division. I agree the Jets & Favre suck, but gee wizz give the fish some credit. Even if Brady would not have gotten hurt the Patriots would not have won anymore games because the QB play never hurt them imo. It was lack of a solid running game & a mediocre defense. And even with a lousy running game Cassell still put up solid #'s as there offense was only really shut down once this year & that was by Pittsburgh. The weather kinda stifled them today also. It's gonna be interesting to see who cassell is starting for next year since Brady will be back for NE. I say he goes to the Chiefs. I agree the Jets & Favre suck, but gee wizz give the fish some credit. What would I be giving them credit for, improving? They won a single game last season, they couldn't do any worse... unless they change their name to the Lions. I don't care who won what. I not impressed by the Dolphins... nor the Jets for that matter. If they can do that next season, which I highly doubt, then they'll get some. drbrosco 12-29-2008, 12:57 AM What would I be giving them credit for, improving? I not impressed by the Dolphins... nor the Jets for that matter. If they can do that next season, which I highly doubt, then they'll get some. I think everybody thought they would win a few games this year, but win 11 & the division...wow...I would liked to have had a dollar on the odds on that in Vegas before the season started. They play the Ravens so I think they could win at least one playoff game but no more, but who knows in the NFL as anything can happen. F91 12-29-2008, 10:53 AM I think there is a reason liquidx is on my ignore list. The quotes I can see kind of reaffirm that. The "real" story is how the greatest team ever, the 07 Pats, lost 1 game and then didn't even make it to the playoffs the next year*. That's what you should be worried about liquid. That and Brady may not be back next year either. The Dolphins are the second team in NFL history to post a +10 win season from their previous year. Quite an accomplishment and one I never saw coming. * just kidding MattRCT 12-29-2008, 11:09 AM I think there is a reason liquidx is on my ignore list. The quotes I can see kind of reaffirm that. Did you see how many injuries this team had. I was shocked we were able to win 11 games. Man do you even follow football?? Brady Thomas Maroney Harrison We won 11 games without out starting QB, who is one of the best of all time. Our starting RB, our best LB and our smartest safety. Now just write over and over again how you banned so and so for this and that. You have officially been served. Good day. F91 12-29-2008, 12:08 PM Matt- In a moment of weakness, I took you off of my ignore list. I appreciated your "Good Luck Dolphins" post, so I thought we could move forward. Here's what I know about football- Cassel's contract is up. He's going to get big offers from other teams, so much so that the pats may not be able to keep him. If Brady's injury keeps him out next year, who is your QB? Your defense is getting old. Injuries to Harrison are becoming more frequent. Thomas has been injury prone his whole career. It really showed this year and none of them are getting any younger. Maroney has been injury prone too, so who or what do you draft next year? There are quite a few holes to fill, so, while worry may be a harsh term, I think concerned might be a good phrase. There- That's what I know about a team that I don't even follow much. Wanna know anything about the Phins? tcarcio 12-29-2008, 12:21 PM First of all congrats F91 for your Dolphins win and please if you guy's get a chance kick the Colts ass. Now as far as the Pats and loseing players I think any team that loses as many starters as the Pats have would be in trouble but I am not worried at all seeing that we went 11-5 without them. Yes getting them back will improve depth and can only help but to see the way they handled their situation I am enthused about what next season can be. I think Brady will be back but if not and they can't keep Castle that will be the only problem that I would be ''concerned'' about. I have confidence in the best coaching staff in the league, imo, that they will have a plan. Well with that I can just say I hope your team goes all the way and wins it all because when we come back next year it is ours again...;) F91 12-29-2008, 12:30 PM tc- I guess we'll have to wait and see. Wanna know anything about the Phins? See now this is some good stuff to talk about! Our secondary is pretty young. I doubt Harrison comes back next year. We need a solid CB bad. Our rookie CB Wheatly got injured in the only game he really played in. He is superfast and could be a good corner. All we need is another good ILB and we can get rid of the aging Bruschi. That defense isn't really that old. I would give Maroney another shot next year but one more injury and he is gone. If we really need Cassell we can franchise him. It would suck spending that much money on him but we just might if Brady is still on the shelf. If we get rid of Bruschi and Harrison then we have Seymour, Vrabel and Thomas as really the only older players on our defense. Thats not that old. Ferguson, Holliday, Ayodele and Porter on the Dolphins are just as old. That mean you have a an aging defense too?? Actually that makes the Dolphins D look slightly older than our D. Next years starters possibly. Hobbs - CB 5yrs Wheatley - CB 1yr Meriweather - SS 3yrs Sanders - FS 5yrs Vrabel - OLB 13yrs free agent or rookie ILB Mayo - ILB 2yrs Thomas - OLB 10yrs Seymour - DE 9yrs Wilfork - NT 6yrs Warren - DE 7yrs Dolphins look just as old, if not older. A Moss or Owens no, but like the many great WR's before him from Ohio St. he will be a solid NFL WR. raiderfan 01-05-2009, 12:17 PM i'm interested in seeing what Chad Henne has to offer the 'Phins. Much stronger arm than Pennington, that's for sure. F91 01-05-2009, 02:05 PM Baltimore could do what they did because Pennington cannot threaten you down the field. Never could, and it's worse now.It wasn't because they don't have any recievers. They could have Moss or Owens but if your QB can't get you the ball, it doesn't do any good. Miamis offense was a solid middle of the pack O. Get a true #1 ( sorry, but I watched Ginn play ALL year, marginal #2, at best) WR and a strong armed QB and this team could make serious noise. How did you know my other name?:haha::haha::haha: I know you're upset about The Phins loosing, sorry about that. The upside is that you did predict it, yes? It's better they loose early, than later. Do you think they will keep Pennington now? http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm49/LIovemykittez/7a4b40ec.gif GymBrat98 01-06-2009, 01:04 AM EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES EAGLES YES I AM HAPPY THE BIRDS ARE FOR REAL AND DAWKINS IS OUT OF HIS MIND WITH DEFENSE LIKE THIS THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN LOSE THE giants ARE THE NEXT VICTIM AND THEN N F C CHAMPIONSHIP GO BIRDS......... I hope they knock the SHIT out of The Giants!:yippee: GymBrat98 01-06-2009, 01:49 AM http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm49/LIovemykittez/17469fe3.gif drock912001 01-06-2009, 03:20 PM Baltimore could do what they did because Pennington cannot threaten you down the field. Baltimore is the 2nd ranked "D" behind Pittsburgh and have made so called great qbs look like out of their league. sawzalot 01-06-2009, 03:26 PM I hope they knock the SHIT out of The Giants!:yippee:You and me both,I feel like the giants are in a downward spiral they lost three out of four games since they had their paxcident and THE EAGLES have played decent ball DAWKINS is playing like a man possesed I just hope Donovan can keep his composure and NO TURNOVERS then we should come out on top ...........GO BIRDS>>BEAT N Y ........EAGLES...... sawzalot 01-06-2009, 03:39 PM I think Miami had one of the greatest turnarounds in recent years no doubt they are a good team,C.P. cant take the blame for this loss Baltimore had the stronger team with a superior D and their coach has pretty much let the NFL know that he is for real and here to stay..ED REED will be remembered as being one of the top three at his position of ALL TIME I dont think any team could have beat them on Sunday..... That was a team on a mission. Now the Eagles mission is to kill The Giants playoff/superbowl dreams/hopes.:yippee::banana::yippee::banana::yippee: F91 01-06-2009, 08:28 PM Yes, they can probably get another year out of Pennington. It's not like I'm blaming him for the loss, but I could have called the D against Miami, they are fairly vanilla and it's because they can't get the ball down the field. Hence the "Wildcat" to shake things up. They had a fantastic year, yes I predicted the playoff loss, but I did NOT think they would do as well as they did for the season. Next year, we'll see.... BTW- Brat: I've always thought Lois was kind of hot... How did you know my other name?:haha::haha::haha: I know you're upset about The Phins loosing, sorry about that. Baltimore is the 2nd ranked "D" behind Pittsburgh and have made so called great qbs look like out of their league. drock912001 01-07-2009, 08:04 AM Yes, they can probably get another year out of Pennington. BTW- Brat: I've always thought Lois was kind of hot... The wildcat was way to get Ronnie and Ricky on the field at the same time and be effective with both while doing it. F91 01-07-2009, 09:55 AM Right....and why would you need that if your QB was a stud? Ricky isn't the Ricky he used to be yet far more of a threat that Chad. Honestly The wildcat was way to get Ronnie and Ricky on the field at the same time and be effective with both while doing it. drock912001 01-07-2009, 03:45 PM Because they no defenses have a hard time matching up if those two are on the field together. The same teams had problems with Marshall Faulk when he split out wide. Those are the best 2 players on offense regardless of the qb.If they had a veteran qb with a arm or not the wildcat was gonna happen. When your receivers refuse to fight for balls or break-up errant throws in their vincinity it goes much deeper than your qb has a weak arm. F91 01-07-2009, 05:07 PM Tell that to David Martin. We have to keep in mind the team is very young.Chad brought veteran leadership to the team. Now in years 2 or 3 for those other guys to step their games up.What know what Ronnie and Ricky can do and Greg Camarillo and receiver spot. And that's the same David Martin who couldn't beat out Bubba Franks? | |
