comcast change over

I am about to switch my phone and internet serive from Verizon to Comcast. Are there any issues I should be aware of ? Also, if I wanted to purchase a 2nd digital box rather then rent it from Comcast where would I find it and what is its proper equipment name? thanks

I have phone and internet with Comcast and have had no issues. The digital boxes are not available for sale to the general public. You will have to rent from Comcast. Do not get fooled and purchase one on Ebay, they are usually stolen. You will waste your $$ as Comcast will not allow it on their system.

I've been using a MagicJack on Comcast in Houston for about a week with excellent results so far. Since this is my first post, the board won't let me post a url. It's just magic jack dot com.

I must admit to having been very skeptical about the Magic Jack when I first ordered it, but you have a whole month to test it out, so I figured I didn't have anything to lose.

get a Tivo or you can just go into Best Buy or Radio Shack and pick up a digital box.

the issue with that is you won't get any extra channels you subscribe to. if you go with tivo or a similar box with a cable card slot then you will get those channels.

are you going from Verizon Fios to Comcast? why the switch. i have found Verizon Fios much faster and consistant. with Comcast i found my service up and down without cause. it seemed like they were limiting my bandwidth during the last half of months.
