Hello HD Lovers,
This is my first time here, so if this is not the right place, please forgive me.
Friends, I am interested in a new receiver for my new Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p. I am interested in the Yamaha RX-V663 7.1-channel Digital Home Theater.
The issue is, based on the back of the diagram of the receiver, I do not see a place for the speaker wire to go. All I see are jacks for cables. My older 5.1 system has speaker wire connections. I have very expensive monster wiring for that system already and very good speakers. I would hate to have to replace all this with plug-in cables.
Am I missing something here?
Thank you,
Jeff G

If you notice from the picture below the speaker connections are binding posts which can also use banana plugs so no worries with your current speaker wires.
BTW in the future don't fall for the overpriced Monster cable scam and get your quality cables from someplace like here www.monoprice.com for a fraction of the cost.

you dont have to replace your wire for a lesser quality cable, you just need to go to Radio Shack or Best Buy or whatever A/V shop and buy the screw on Banana plugs for your Monster Cable.
These are the ones I would buy if I didnt already have the Monsters(which I got on sale for $2 per pair)

You can either attach banana plugs on the wire ends or just unscrew the binding posts, slip the bare wire end underneath then screw back down. Either way you're good to go. :D

I have a Yamaha N600, and I use these
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e_0_3?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=banana+plugs&sprefix=ban
Acoustic Research AP307 Speaker Banana Ends, set screw type, 2 pr./pkg Red/Black
Do some research, I got them way cheaper than what Amazon is selling them at.
Hope this helps

I just use the bare wire.
It's a royal pain in the ass to get in there, but I'm too complacent to go buy banana plugs.
