My old TW cable box (analog) had a timer function which allowed me to preset channels to record. The new Scientific Atlanta boxes only seem to have a "reminder" timer which doesn't do anything and which is useless if you're not home watching TV. I want to record using my own DVR. Is there some way to make the box change to channels preselected channels at preselected times? And would the box have to be left on all the time? The old box could be left off, and the time would still work.
