My Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD DVR is strange. I begin watching a program, if I need to stop, I hit the stop button and go to live tv. If I go right back to that program on the list I can play from where I last stopped, however, if I leave it for a while, I come back to finish the show and the play from current is gone and I have to start at the beginning again. Having just come from DirecTV, I have never had this problem. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a problem with the box?

OK then. Is there another box that has the resume/play from current function and maybe the ability to search by program name without scrolling down lists of hundreds of shows which might be available or is this the only one? This is a basic function and for this box not to have it is pathetic.

The Motorola boxes I have do have all of those abilities. But they will not work on a system designed for SA boxes. All I could suggest is ask your provider if they have another model of SA box besides the 8300HD.

Instead of going back to the list, try to back to the DVR channel (in my case it's Ch. 1000). This works for me better than going back to the List.
