$200 for a receiver upgrade to HD?

I've had Dishnetwork for about 4 years.

I am now getting a new TV (Vizio 47xvt), and want to get the HD to match. I have the 100 plan currently, and don't plan to upgrade my plan other than add HD.

I have 2 TV's upstairs, one will be the HDTV, the other old style tube. I have a dual receiver/DVR now. If I upgrade, will it work with one tube TV, one HDTV, and a dual new receiver/DVR?

To upgrade with a new receiver, DN said the cost would be $200 for dish, receiver, and installer to come out. Is that right? It seems very high to me. Is there another plan or program they have that I could ask for? Maybe threaten to leave (I mean if I were a new subscriber I would be getting everything for free).

Note:
I also have a tube TV and DN receiver downstairs that I plan to keep as is for now if that matters.

Does seem high to me. Maybe you should mention that you have been a loyal customer for 4 years. I would think your original contract has expired by now, and you might be able to get some sort of discount for renewing.

If not, just tell them there are other companies out there that will give you everything you want for free.

If you need to upgrade your receivers to HD, ask for the "Dish N It Up" promo. I believe the upgrade is free with a 24 month contract. Your best bet is to call to see if you qualify for a discount.

A year ago I had to pay $150 so it's very possible they raised their rates especially after that TIVO lawsuit that cost them millions.
Do what many did here, ask for a supervisor, tell them you'll switch to Direct tv if they don't give you a break in price and you might get it for free.
