Hi guys, hope this is the right place to post this question;
I have several mkv files, they are 720p or 1080p and would like to connect my pc to the HDTV so i can watch them directly from my pc using the tv as monitor, i dont want to stream via network, i mean via a graphic card and/or cable, right now i dont have any graphic card but i would like you to tell me what could be a good option or what can i do. meanwhile i am converting those mkv to play them on the xbox360 but i would prefer just to switch the tv input and watch the movie than spending hours converting the movies.
i've already connected my tv to the pc but with an ordinary monitor cable and obviously thats what i dont want, any help please?
thanks a lot :busy:

I would get a graphics card that will support HDTV resolutions and HDCP. I have a nVidia 8500 GT that has both a HDMI and DVI output in one of my HTPCs and a 7800GS with HDMI in the other.
Check: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=8500+GT+&x=13&y=32
They don't have mine listed anymore, but that will get you started. Mine was a MSI.

The PCI express is a hardware thing. If you have a PCI express slot, then it would be compatable. If you are not sure, take a picture of your motherboard slots with you to the computer store. Or take your computer.
I don't read Spanish very well (or whatever that is) but as long as the 9400 or better has HDCP support I think you would be fine.

Almost all PCs have a standard VGA/SVGA monitor output. And most, but not all, new HDTVs have "pc input." The two are compatible. You can purchase an inexpensive cable and find detailed installation instructions at PCTVCables . com
