motorola terminal locked 6412

i recently purchased a motorola dvr 6412 on ebay. I did the reset and the download but when i turn it on it say "terminal Locked" enter password. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

to expand usa cable companies will not allow customer bought Motorola or SA DVR's since they aren't sold to the public.

Don't know who your carrier is but you cannot purchase STBs in the US. You can only rent them from your carrier i.e Comcast, etc. More than likely it was stolen as Deadhead68 stated.

That is what we are saying. Ebay could very well not know that these boxes are not for sale to the general public.
