leave on or turn off

just wondered if i should turn my receiver off when my tv is off. i just upgraded to a vip722, from a 411. does it hurt anything to leave it on. it is set to 4hr inactive, im thinking that turns it off after 4hrs but not sure.

There are daily guide updates throughout the day, they happen when the receiver is in standby (there is no off on dvr receivers anymore). Also note that there is an inactivity shutoff built into the unit. If you have not disabled this feature, it will go into standby mode after four hours anyway.
