Microsoft Live.com Search Cashback

Microsoft and eBay have a promotion going on now, purchase a Buy-It-Now item and get 30% cashback in 60 days. I can't imagine it will last long but it was pointed out to me a week ago and I pointed it out here a few days ago and it is still working. Several members here purchased the BDP-S550 at around $270 delivered after net cashback.

Search for Blu-ray here but you can change to whatever you want:

Samsung BDP-1500 for $147 delivered after net cashback:

This stupid deal really works, it took me 5 minutes to sign up and understand how to use it and days to figure out how to spend the money. I purchased the BDP-S350 clone BDP-BX1 for $171 after netcash back. There is a thread in the Blu-ray forum on the BDP-S550 where I pointed this out and it was discussed. I have no idea why Microsoft if paying us to buy Blu-ray products but I like the way it sounds.

Sweet deal.. I wonder how long it'll last.

I'm going to pass this info along to some people at work. There are a LOT of people at my office on the fence waiting for a good deal on a BD player.

Thanks for posting Chris.

Have them move fast if they are interested, it has to end really soon.

sounds interesting. I was thinking of getting a 120g drive for my xbox 360. $100 seemed steep, but $70 might be a good deal.

I don't know whether that is a good deal or not really. You must use Buy-It-Now and pay by PayPal, but it is pretty easy to use. I keep on expecting the deal to end.

This crazy deal is still working. I decided to purchase a new Lamp for my Panasonic PT-AE900U projector. The new model projector I probably want is available now but way too expensive for me so I just decided to use this one another couple of years, at least try to use it, hoping it won't break. The price for the lamp $165 delivered after net cashback is the best deal by far I have found on a lamp.

You can only use that eBay 10% coupon one time so you burned it for a couple of dollars. I decided to buy another Blu-ray player with mine coupled with another 30% cashback. What a nut I am. I will soon get a Samsung BD-UP5000 for around $220 delivered.

Well what the heck, I just bought a copy myself on ebay. My bank account is low from buying a couple of combo players (with the 30% off), but I'm able to squeeze this one thru. Got to take advantage all I can while it lasts.

Fall and winter of 2006 Google Checkout/Buy.com offered a buy $50 get $20 off promotion. I did most of my Christmas shopping that way, buying $50 worth at a time. I also purchased a number of SACD/DVD-A titles. This is the best similar deal I have seen since. I still use Google Checkout often, it works great but I think I received about $200 worth of discounts to begin with.

If you plan to use this promotion often, be sure to read the limits and try to maximize your cashback. I think I could have done better and I just got this message without getting close to the maximum cashback total.

Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum lifetime limits for this program and are no longer eligible.

Oh well, great deal while it lasted.

You can now purchase the BDP-S550 for about $200 delivered net after cashback if you can use both Live.com Search Cashback and the current eBay 10% coupon. Using the directions above and this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-BDP-S550-1080p-Blu-Ray-Disc-Player-BDPS550-NEW-NIB_W0QQitemZ370101507873QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item3 70101507873&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318

I know nothing about this seller so I can't recommend the seller and I didn't calculate the exact price but the math is simple so I will do it as I type, $309.99 less 10% equals $278.99, cashback will be $92.99 add shipping of $17.99 appears to be $204 delivered subject to rounding differences. Profile 2.0, analog 7.1, bitstreaming and decoding of all audio codecs and requiring rather simple process of having Microsoft help out for $204 net delivered after 60 days. That seems like a great deal to me.

Chris

edit: cashback was just reduced to 25% so add $15.50 to net total.

Here is a redo of the best deal I am aware of today on this Blu-ray player with the now current cashback 25% and eBay immediate 10% off:

$309.99 less 10% equals $278.99, cashback will be $77.49 add shipping of $17.99 appears to be $219.50 delivered subject to rounding differences. Profile 2.0, analog 7.1, bitstreaming and decoding of all audio codecs and requiring rather simple process of having Microsoft help out for $219.50 net delivered after 60 days.

Chris I found this in LIVE SEARCH CASHBACK FAQ's

Q: Is there a limit on how much cashback savings I can get?
A: You can earn up to $2,500 in cashback savings every calendar year! We want cashback awards to go to a broad variety of consumers who search and shop on Live Search for their personal purchases. However, if a single purchase causes you to meet and also exceed this cap, you can still earn all the cashback savings associated with that purchase, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met.

The $2,500 is for a single user for all vendors in a calendar year. There is no way to get the $2,500 from just eBay for a single eBay account. There are other limitations, I got blocked after 12 transactions and I think there are short term limits of some kind as well.

And note: that 10% coupon is available to existing E-Bay members and not to someone just opening an E-Bay acct, unfortunately.

The Live.com Search cashback is not working now, I suspect it is over. I think somebody mentioned at a Microsoft meeting that Microsoft was paying consumers $100 to buy a PS3 on eBay. The response was are you guys a bunch of nuts? Whoever decided to do that is fired and I want it stopped now!

Members at High Def Digest are still seeing the 25% but I can't get it to work. I know my account is dead because of the 12 transactions but my girlfriend can't get it to work with her account and she has only done 2 transactions.

The method they are using is to put "sell airline miles" in this search instead of "wii".

http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=wii&form=QBLH

Beats me why that works for them, it doesn't do diddly for my girlfriend.
