Hello everyone,
I tried to connect my mac mini with my tv through an DVi ---> HDMI cable.
only problem is that i can't keep my image from "shaking" it vibrates with every resolution i choose.
what can i do?
With most HDTV's that weren't intended to be used as computer monitors, if you want to use HDMI you must select one of the standard ATSC scan rates (assuming North America: 480i/30, 480p/60, 720p/60, 1080i/30 or 1080p/60, with a 60Hz vertical sync rate).
In most cases you will have an easier time using a VGA input if the TV has one, as that has been designed to deal with various scan rates as supplied by computers, including different vertical sync rates and non-standard resolutions. Ultimately the TV will scale the input to match it's native resolution and refresh rate, but when using HDMI, if the input is not an ATSC standard, it will not receive it properly.
BTW, this subforum is really meant for direct-view CRT's, not flat-panels (though they are also "direct-view" displays) as there is a separate subforum for LCD/Plasma flat-panel displays.
