Bad news Cowboy fans: Romo out 4 weeksjusHD 10-13-2008, 10:41 AM After a crappy game yesterday news just broke Romo has a broken finger on his throwing hand and will be out at least 4 weeks. Upcoming games are the Rams, Bucs, Giants, and Redskins. They should be able to go 2-2 against those 4 teams with a backup. Who is thier backup QB? bruceames 10-13-2008, 10:51 AM Cry me a river. That's what the Cowboys deserve for not protecting him yesterday. He was knocked out probably 20 times, and it was so ridiculous that I wanted to go in and block for him myself. bruceames 10-13-2008, 10:54 AM They should be able to go 2-2 against those 4 teams with a backup. Who is thier backup QB? My guess is 1-3. The Bucs destroyed 4-1 Carolina yesterday. However you're right, it will depend on their backup, and Romo hasn't been too impressive lately. MattRCT 10-13-2008, 11:02 AM They should be able to go 2-2 against those 4 teams with a backup. Who is thier backup QB? I think their backup is Brad, my face looks like a prune, Johnson jusHD 10-13-2008, 11:08 AM Yeap 50 year old Brad Johnson is the backup. I still think our o-line is overrated and Brad is gonna get killed. I see probably a 1-3 record since three of the teams have good defense's and will get to the QB. But it may just be three games since they get a bye after NY and Romo may be back for the redskins. bruceames 10-13-2008, 11:34 AM Yeap 50 year old Brad Johnson is the backup. But it may just be three games since they get a bye after NY and Romo may be back for the redskins. Well that's better than having some rookie or someone else will little NFL experience. Maybe this will force the Cowboys to go to their ground game more, which I think they've been underusing. The other players need to step it up now and make it work with Johnson and if they do, they could go 2-2 or even 3-1. I was wondering though, if this is the pinky finger, can't he play around that? I mean, other QBs have played with broken fingers and this is just the pinky. :what: jusHD 10-13-2008, 11:50 AM Sportscenter says the pinky is important especially in Romo's throwing style because when he cocks back to throw the majority of pressure is on his pinky. It may work out fine anyway usually Romo is smiling having fun and latety he looks depressed. (maybe Jessica isnt putting out?) Either way the boys' need to come together. For all the talent they have it isnt working the way it should. Yeah they got a lot of injuries but I am fearing the same for the boys and lakers. Lots of good talent but the wrong mix. scootah8 10-13-2008, 02:24 PM Romo has played poorly in the game yesterday. That being said, his offensive line was PITIFUL! They could not open holes for Marion Barber and Romo was running for his life all day. Like I said, Romo was bad (he just refuses to protect the ball), but the offensive line was an embarrassment. Total embarrassment. jpfrasier 10-13-2008, 08:44 PM I hope this three-four weeks off does Romo some good. Something has not been right about that guy for a few weeks now. His head isn't right and a few weeks off on the sideline maybe just what the Dr. ordered for this guy. If Brad Johnson can go 3-1 or even 2-2 then we see what happens the rest of the season. Don't forget there are many injuries on this team right now so this will be a pivotal 4-6 week stretch for this team. Thankfully the bye week is the 2nd week of November so maybe they can hold things together until then. jusHD 10-13-2008, 08:56 PM Yeah Felix Jones is injured now also. And we just lost our punter for the year. It may be just a punter but he is the best in the league and does a lot for field position. bruceames 10-13-2008, 09:31 PM Yeah Felix Jones is injured now also. And we just lost our punter for the year. It may be just a punter but he is the best in the league and does a lot for field position. Wow, the Cowboy's offensive line sure cost the team big time yesterday. That's what happens when people don't block, other people get hurt. :what: jpfrasier 10-13-2008, 09:33 PM Wow, the Cowboy's offensive line sure cost the team big time yesterday. That's what happens when people don't block, other people get hurt. :what: yep, and offensive line wasn't a point of concern when this season started but now :banghead: bruceames 10-13-2008, 09:48 PM yep, and offensive line wasn't a point of concern when this season started but now :banghead: I wonder if it has anything to do with defenses 'getting a bead' on the Cowboys line formations that Romo alluded to? jusHD 10-14-2008, 08:33 AM I still dont understand how every announcer and people I know said we had a crappy o-line then we pick up L.Davis form the cardinals who was considered a bust. After that all the sudden we have a good o-line? Even though Romo's greatest assest was his pocket presence and ability to move in the pocket since the o-line still sucked. Adams is supposed to be great but he gets beat all the time and never fails to lead in dumbass penalty's. SOBAY310 10-14-2008, 05:23 PM On the flip side, they just got Roy Williams from Detroit: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3643295 bruceames 10-14-2008, 07:43 PM On the flip side, they just got Roy Williams from Detroit: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3643295 That should make up for all the bad news. I'd trade my punter and have my QB sit 4 weeks in exchange for a A list receiver. BTW, that shouldn't hurt his point prospects as you have him on your fantasy team. But then again if he does get a lot of production then Owens probably won't. bruceames 11-02-2008, 09:27 PM 'Bad news' turned out to be an understatement. 2nd game in a row where the Cowboys have under 200 yards total offense. Are the Cowboys really this reliant on Romo's arm? Has the QB position become so key that a team goes from Super Bowl contender to Super Suck on O? jusHD 11-03-2008, 07:50 AM For the cowboys yes. Romo came in for bledsoe becuase of our shitty O-Line since romo can run around and bledsoe was same as B.Johnson. Thats why I cant believe all of the sudden we have a good o-line. Its all about romo since we cant block a damn person and besides that we have to make up for having the least intelligent team in the league. Flozell adams IQ has to be the same as Peter Griffin. bruceames 11-03-2008, 11:34 AM For the cowboys yes. Well without Romo the Cowboys have some very good players and I'm surprised how poorly they've adjusted without Romo and I would blame the coaching staff for that. I wonder if Romo will be back for the Redskins game. | |
