HDMI and VGA problems

I got a 1.3 Hdmi cable but then i realized i have no Hdmi port :(
i got a laptop so any hopes of getting it to work via usb and how much it costs

the other problem is the vga i connect to my hdtv via vga
but monitor 2 is undefined always how can i make it identified
