Right now I'm leaning towards a Samsung PN50A450. Should I wait until Black Friday to see if I can get anything better for ~$1,000 or should I pull the trigger now?

Should I wait until Black Friday to see if I can get anything better for ~$1,000 or should I pull the trigger now? It's a crap shoot as to which products wind up being the doorbusters. However, history has shown that some of the best prices can be had between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and again before Superbowl. I have no idea what you situation is, whether your tv has crapped out, or whatnot, but if I had a tv that I could watch until then, personally I'd wait, but ultimately, the decision is yours. SOBAY310 10-10-2008, 11:18 AM If you can hold off, I would wait until the holiday shopping. Prices are only going to get better. I agree 100%, as the economy continues to falter suppliers and retailers begin looking at their inventories, and manufacturers also want to move product and want to move inventory ( because they've already got newer models in production and will want to bring them to retailers) they will all get together to offer deals you can't resist, otherwise there will be a lot of product sitting in wharehouses aging and losing more value with every passing week. You can see some of those price moves already in the rapidly reclining prices of BluRay players and HD TV's. The prices for the present have no where to go but DOWN even the Asian manufacturers where most of these products come from are suffering severely from the Stock markets failures Good days are ahead for buyers between Huge price reductions and Manufacturers rebates. bank5 10-10-2008, 01:21 PM It's a crap shoot as to which products wind up being the doorbusters. Ok, I'm glad I asked. I can keep my 27" tube tv for a couple more months and wait for even better deals. tcarcio 10-10-2008, 03:31 PM You can check out sears, my son bought a 50'' Panasonic plasma today for $960. Yes, or $927 at 6th Ave. But who is to say this won't be even cheaper in another 6 weeks? I'm guessing you'll be able to get the same set for around $800 by then. Chris Gerhard 10-19-2008, 04:53 AM The economy needs you to buy now. I don't know whether waiting will result in a better price, it might, or it might not but buying now means you get to watch HDTV on a bigger screen now and help get the economy rolling now. Chris | |
