HDMI Cable Issues, I think?

Hey guys, i'm new to this forum, but from what I see you guys are going to be a great resource. Here's my question...I have a 50" Samsung Plasma and a comcast Motorola HDDVR, but when I hook up my Monster 300 HDMI cable the TV show's no signal. I've tried restarting the box by powering off, but nothing changes. Any thoughts?

Mot. cable boxes and Samsung tvs often have issues with HDMI. You can try another HDMI cable and sometimes that helps. But most use component (red/green/blue) and audio cables as the picture quality is equal and the handshake issue is non existant.

I too would suggest you use component cables for the video connection. Take that highly overpriced Monster cable back to the store for a refund and in the future go to www.monoprice.com for all of your cable needs. You can get a high quality HDMI cable there for about $8 shipped and it is as good as any cable made. They also sell component and various other cables.

I work for a cable company and our dvr's were having problems with HDMI connections. We were able to send out a signal to the box to correct some of the problems. Having said that, I still use component cables myself! ;)

I'd say contact comcast customer service...see if they can send a signal to your box or help you adjust any of your settings.

I would find a friend that has a HDMI cable and test theirs. Maybe your TV is boycotting you over wasting $100 on the Monster cable :)
