Faulty HDMI cable?

I have been using an HDMI cable to connect my DISH satellite service to my Samsung LCd tv. It has been working fine for a month. Today I have no sound just picture through the cable. I tried using one of the other HDMI inputs on the TV still no sound. I finally had to connect RCA cables to get sound. Could the cable be bad already?

well youve eliminated the tv as the problem, but not the cable or the source. If you can buy another cheap HDMI from walmart (assuming you have one) to check if its the cable, if it isnt the cable return for a refund...if you want...so you can buy a better one or whatever. Goodluck

I would call Dish and have them resolve the problem for you. It seems that many of their boxes exhibit this type of behavior after a period of time.

I would agree with L2W, unless your handling your HDMI cable frequently there is usually no reason for it to go " belly up" it's sounds like box problems. If you have another component w/HDMI contections try and see if that works that would elimnate the cable as being a problem source.
