I went to worldOfCables.com for a particular cable because they indicate on their website a Lowest Price Guarantee.
It took me all of about 3 seconds to find plenty of providers of the exact same cable at almost half the price. Their price was over $18 and there were plenty of sites that were selling the same product under $11 with a few in the $9 range. Shipping cost was similar so that didn't have an impact on the overall total cost.
I decided to call them and ask what they could do on the pricing based on their low price "guarantee". The response was that they couldn't go below their pricing of $11.87. I indicated that it wasn't much of a guarantee if they don't honor it.
It's comical in the respect that their pricing isn't good, they don't honor their guarantee of lowest price; and finally, I completely dislike when a company uses a marketing ploy, in my opinion, to appear to the consumer that they have the lowest prices by putting a low price guarantee on the website.
Has anyone else experienced this?
