I want to send my friend in the Philippines a Monster Cable Home Theater Power Center HTS 1000 MKii but I don't know if this device would meet their power requirements in the Philippines. Here's what they said, can the item be used for a 220W power supply? This is our standard power requirement in the Philippines.

If you can forgo a Monster brand go with APC, a very good brand.
You might start here:

http://apc.com/tools/surge_selector/

It looks like their protection equipment for PI is aimed a PC/notebooks. Might email them and see if they
offer any a/v equipment protection.

Here's another that offers 250V power protection also.
