TSN2 is all but launched, using its split feed to start a second channel, competitors (Specifically, CBC and Score Media Inc.) complain that the split feed is for separate W. and E. broadcasts, and not license to mount 2 stations under the TSN banner. The dispute also comes as the CBC is preparing to launch its own cable sports channel in 2009.
TSN says it's playing by the rules.
TSN reaches more than 8.6 million homes in Canada, but TSN2 only a fraction of that. Though it announced a carriage agreement with Bell TV on Saturday, it must still reach deals with Rogers Communications Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc., which also owns the StarChoice satellite service.
