I just purchased a new 40" Sony HDTV and presently have this hooked up via my HDMI cable to Comcast cable box. I also purchased a Sony DVP, and a Sony 5.1 receiver with three HDTV connections. I wanted to know how I hook everything up. I assume that the Comcast box goes to the TV, but how does everything else integrate?
Thanks

". . . a Sony 5.1 receiver with three HDTV connections" is that 2 INPUTS and 1 OUTPUT -- or are there 3 Inputs and 1 Output? The other components, do they all have HDMI?

Rick sorry that I did not respond before now, but had to go home after work to check what I had. My receiver is the Sony STR-DG510 that has 3 HDMI connections. They are broken down as one output, and two inputs. If I had straight cable coming in I don't think that I would have a problem, but with the cable box now sure where it goes in relationship to everything else.
Thanks

I would connect both the cable box and DVP to the reciever via HDMI. Then send one HDMI cable to the TV. Since that receiver has HDMI passthrough you may need to run coax or optical digital to the receiver for surround sound.
