Hello,
I purchased a Panasonic HTS to connect to my 4 year-old Sony projection HDTV. The Sony TV has a DVI input and the Panasonic HTS has an HDMI connection. I purchased a DVI to HDMI cable to connect, but get no picture at all. I can hear the DVD, but get no picture. Calls to Sony and to Panasonic were useless.
Any help you can give is appreciated!
Thanks!!

Just a thought, and you've probably already tried this, but in a lot of cases where HDMI is converted via cable to a DVI input on the tv, the tv has to be powered on first, then the input source.
Again, just a thought.

I didn't think of that. I will try that tonight and see if that works.

If that works for you it would indicate the EDID is being lost ocasionally. There is an inexpensive box you can add to fix this. See: Got HDCP Connection Problems? (http://www.highdefinitionblog.com/?p=314)

I hope that works, if it doesn't work, would the little box that you sent the link to make it work?
I'm concerned that there maybe a compatibility issue between the TV's DVI input and the HDMI output on the HTS.

If the TV is HDCP complient then the box will work. If the TV's DVI port is not HDCP complient, then nothing will help other than a new TV. What is the model of the TV?

It's a 51" Sony, model # KP-51WS510.

From what I could find on the internet for specs on this TV is it is a CRT based RPTV with a digital chassis. It has a HDCP capable DVI port, so I'd say there is a good chance, but no guarantee, that the box will work. I have one on one of my HTPCs and it works very well.
