I just bought a Panasonic 50" plasma (TH-50PZ80U) and a Panasonic home theater system (SC-PT960). They both have the Viera link. I am having trouble getting the system set-up. I have Dish, but not Dish HD. Can someone help me that may have this same system or similar? I am having trouble getting TV to play through Surround Sound speakers.

What problem are you having with the sound. Is it coming thru as just stereo or not at all. Generally running the sound cable directly out of the cable box to the receiver will give you the best sound. But on a non HD box, I don't think they have an optical out, just red and white rca stereo. If that is the case, you'll only get stereo, but run the red and white rca cables straight from the cable box to the receiver and it should work, tho not in surround. For surround, you'll have to get an HD box with optical out.
