ESPN gives Raycom the boot for SEC coverage

Good Deal for SEC fans. And believe it or not this will be a good tool for recruiting. Not that most SEC schools need it.

I hear you can get the Raycom game in HD with OTA signal. Gonna give it a try Saturday and see how it is.

Yea I am really gonna miss the SEC channel we got here in SW Ohio. We got it cause UK is just south of us & alot of times they had good games on there.

One bad thing about that SEC channel we had was the PQ was horrible. My TV looks great wether it is HD or not 99.9% of the time, but those SEC games was always real grainy. But I still like to watch SEC as much as I do my Big 10.

I feel you. Hopefully alot more stadiums will be using HD cameras this year. When my Baylor Bears play tonight on FSN HD, I'm wondering if it will be an SD frame.:confused:

The SEC early game with Raycom was awful. You can get it OTA in some places in HD though. Raycom and its predecessors were referred to here in Alabama as "The Dirty Windshield" for the PQ they served up.

The early game is what we always got as it usually started at noon. And yes "dirty Windshield" fits the PQ description perfectly.

To bad this new agreement did not start this year. This Southern Miss./Auburn game looks absolutely terrible. I mean it looks so bad you would think there was something wrong with their cameras.
Oh well, just gotta have patience.

Saturday's Memphis - Rice game had to be the worst picture I've ever seen. I don't understand how CBS could call that HD. I tried to figure it out on 3 different TV sets; 1 RP and 2 Sony XBRs. It looked like stretched 480i.

The next time I see something like this, I'm going to make a list of the sponsors and send them an email about CBS College Sports is stealing their money.

Maybe if we start contacting the sponsors about how their precious advertising dollars are not hitting their targeted audiences they might get on the networks and make them do something about HD PQ and the networks they use.

My one email to CBSCS will fall on deaf ears, but if we start hammering the sponsors we may see some action being taken.

It did look bad, but so did Auburn's offense, too many turnovers. If they don't get this thing corrected they will struggle when conference play starts. But, hey I'll take the win anyday. WAREAGLE!
